Margarita

A Margarita to celebrate International Margarita Day! 🍸❤️ If you feel like making one for yourself, here’s how I make mine to help transport myself to Los Cabos, Mexico!

Ingredients

  • 1 shot (30ml) your favourite Tequila, I’m using @altostequila
  • 1 shot (30ml) of triple sec or orange juice if you don’t have that
  • 1 shot of simple sugar syrup (equal parts sugar and water dissolved)
  • 1-2 limes
  • 1 tablespoon of a mixture of different salts for texture. I’ve used flakey salt, Himalayan rock salt finely ground and a oak smoked salt.
  • 1 cup of ice

Equipment

  • 1 cocktail or lowball glass
  • 1 cocktail shaker or lidded glass jar
  • 1 plate
  • 1 knife

Method

  1. Make your salt rim by cutting a lime in half and making a 1 can incision across one of the halves. Rum the lime around the rim of the glass and then roll it onto a plate with your salt. Twist the glass until salt covers the entire rim. Set aside.
  2. Place the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Shake until the exterior of the shaker is ice cold.
  3. Strain and pour into your Margarita glass.
  4. Enjoy!
